Would be this similar to the QF A380 simulator experience? If yes I'm all up for it (unless I need to be some sort of PPS member). It's a steal compared to the 275,000 points QF wants for the same thing!

Yes I think you do need to make the booking through SQ so you'd have to be a PPS member.

But it looks like at least you can add people to your redemption list for the simulator so if they are on your list of nominees, you can guest them to the simulator as you'd guest them to SKL.

The other 'experiences' offered seem a bit over the top however. Looks like bit expensive for a 'regular' PPS member although Solitaires and Lifes might have a different opinion on this.
