So I've got a pair of nice Bose headphones I accidentally borrowed from my suite to Sydney recently, but unfortunately the 3 plugs on the current jack don't fit into my iphone. Anyone know of an adapter you can buy to fix this?

Thanks

I'm not sure many here would condone stealing!

what's the saying..'you put lipstick on a pig..it's still a pig'...and if you post on a public forum that you STOLE something..you gotta expect the consequences.

I think they should be accidentally mailed back to SQ.
They were not meant to be taken off the aircraft.
These accidental removals tarnish the premium experience for everyone else, especially when the airlines start asking for their headphones back hours before they land - even in premium cabins.

You guys are way too serious. Think of it as one extra bottle of Krug I didn't drink.

Plus it's not like it says anywhere not to take them, everything else they give you is yours to keep so I'm assuming the headphones are no different!

Also doesn't say not to rape the hosties or take them with you.

What an attitude . It's theft.

The reason they make the jacks three-prong and proprietary size is so that people inclined to theft do not have an incentive to steal them.

Whilst there haven't been any breaches of the T&C's (that dflyerau stole/borrowed permanently the Bose headphones), many here certainly don't condone the action and I doubt you'll get any/many that want to help you find an adapter. Boasting about taking them probably doesn't win you ANY friends here.

Trying to make an analogy of the bottle of Krug is way off mark as well. F&B are usually consumed onboard during your flight OR gifted to you by flight crew as thank you, congratulations or service recovery. The fact that you correlate to "this is instead of the bottle of Krug that I could have drunk" - not sure how you justify that...:rolleyes:

I suspect karma may get the OP anyway. Those NC headphones (like the SQ J class) with 3 prongs are all Active NC. The reason for the third prong is to supply power. The plane supplies power via that prong. All your QC15, QC20 etc., all have no third prong - and their own battery.

No adapter is going to help.

This different plug allows the airline to not have to worry about batteries. Anyone who realised how the headphones worked, even if lacking in the moral department, wouldn't bother "borrowing" them, as without the appropriate external power source, they are not going to function at NC headphones.

I always thought the 3 prong jack was the airlines way of screaming at their pax, don't steal our stuff. You cant use it except for when on planes.

We have our own Bose so I had no idea about the power thing so thanks for the explanation for dummies!

That's a consumable. Unlike headphones.

You know the reason you started this thread? Those 3 prongs? That's what says don't steal these headphones. Well done you have completely useless headphones that you can use to gather dust.

The headphones are indeed no different to the extra bottle of Krug. Removal of either from the plane is the same = not allowed. Use of either on the plane is the same = allowed

But what if you are given the bottle of Krug by the FA?

It would be technically the same situation as if the FA gave the headphones for you to take as well.

I don't even know why the OP wants to use the Bose outside of the plane though... I own a QC15 and it's great for flying but the sound quality is cough so I only use it exclusively for flying. Its like a $5 headphone with $395 engine noise cancelling features.
