Hi All,

I'm a Silver frequent flyer and have a complimentary invitation to the Qantas Club that expires at the end of May 2012 which I will have no chance to use before the end of the month. We recently tried in Rome, Italy (on our honeymoon!) but the folks at British Airways weren't feeling generous enough to push the rules and let us use the pass in a partner airline lounge...bugger!!!

The biggest downside (for the pass!)...is that I live in New York so if you'd like it, it'll cost around USD $40 to send it 3-5 day express post to Australia. I'm not looking to make a profit here, but would be more than happy to send the pass to a good home if someone is comfortable to reimburse me for the cost of the postage (I have an Australian bank account).

Please let me know if anyone is interested, keeping in mind that time is of the essence if I am to send it within the next few days!!! Thanks!

Nick

Welcome to the forum

Regular US post air mail will take about the same time at a fraction of the cost. I receive airmail from the US often

Thanks for the feedback! You are right in some cases, however I also send items to Australia quite regularly and have seeen the USPS take anywhere between 1-2 weeks for a standard letter. I'd be happy to send it regular mail if there is no interest in paying for guaranteed delivery, but with an expiration of the end of the month I can't assure the recipient they'd get it in time nor reliably track it to the destination. Again though, I'm trying to give this away so if someone can honestly use the pass and wants to take the risk with postage, then fine by me!!! ;)

Lawlass - this is all yours and I'll send it via standard post thing tomorrow morning. Hopefully you receive it in time to use it...we'll do a trade - you cross your fingers that it arrives in time and then I'll cover the 98c postage... Sound fair? ;)

BTW - I received your PM however it seems I cannot reply as I am a new member on this discussion board...could you please PM me again but include your mailing address for me? Thanks...and enjoy!!!

Ahhh, you're too kind! I'm just glad to see it go to good use!

PM received so I'll send it tomorrow morning, perhaps flick me a note when you receive it as I'm interested to see how quickly it travels via standard post.

In any case, ENJOY!!!

Arrived safe and sound with a week to spare! Thanks very much mockykid! You rock :)

Stupid question maybe. Do the lounge passes arrive every year at membership renewal ?
And are there more provided, the higher the status ?

Not quite.

Silver members get one complimentary pass per year.

And then there are some of the Qantas Amex co-branded credit cards (such as the Premium card) that issue 2 complimentary lounge passes per year.

I did have 2 that I thought I saw in February this year but like everything else useful that passes through my hands these have disappeared....

HSBC Platinum Visa gives two passes annually as well.

And they would arrive on what anniversary. ?

Qantas Amex co-branded Premium card ... for us 2 x invites arrive after our first spend on QF services when our anniversary rolls over.
Not that we can use them as a WP, so we usually hand them out to family and friends flying international especially or if flying in a group and the lounge attendant insists on a pass

Did not realise there was this much interest in QP passes. I have 2-4 to give away then, with expiry between Dec 2012 and probably May 2013. I'll do the two oldest first (Dec and Feb) and have to scrounge around for the others.

On a related note, I'd really appreciate another F lounge pass. As it is, I have a J NAN run with ~5 hours in Mel in August with the gf but only got 1 pass from the ground (she got bag tags...).

Anyway, please pm me. My only criteria would be established and helpful contributor to the forum.
