Looks like you not only enjoyed the food but drank lots of the NP coolade too on Sat! But don't worry, I am right there with you. :cool:
 
I got nothing against the mixed leaves. What don't you like about it, drron? (Not saying you should like it, just curious).

Admittedly, it's definitely a polariser, because the leaves are far from conventional and with dividing flavours - if I remember correctly, it's radicchio, endive and witlof. But with the vinaigrette, I like the bitterness. Really wish they would serve more of that on domestic J flights (rather than just boring packet baby spinach).
 
Sour dough is an acquired taste.....and I really like it over the bread roll. On QF you get a choice so I don't see it as a problem.
If it is a problem it may be time to visit your dentist.

As i've stated before, I used to think NP was a bit of a douche. Now having been fortunate enough to meet the man twice, my thoughts are completely reversed. He's a nice guy who is clearly very passionate about food and his relationship/interactions with QF.

If you don't like his food that's for you to decide, but i'm a huge fan of Asian cuisine, and his food is not bad at all IMHO.

The mixed leaves? Blame others for that including Supermarkets and their bags of 'mixed greens' ;)

(FWIW, I don't drink Kool Aid ;))

Sadly you dont get a choice down the back in PE or Y. I am a lover of the stuff normally but the lump I got on QF1 to DXB was woeful.

Agree - sourdough has texture and flavour - why should we all be condemned to bland white stuff with no texture? Really airline food is limited enough without removing the sour dough.

I think you may have misunderstood me or I just didn't come across correctly in my statement. As someone of Asian background I am usually very critical of asian food that is cooked or designed by non-Asians, but I have to say that the lunch on saturday was superb and I will definitely be going back again to try his other dishes. An like you I too was struck by how passionate he is with the Qantas product as a whole.

I have to concur.

I'm also of Asian background (even though I was born in Australia), and for most part, if there's Asian on the menu being prepared in Australia, unless I know the person cooking is Asian or knows about bona fide Asian food, I'm usually not about to be impressed. If anything, Australians cook Asian and add too much sugar.

This was good Asian food at Spice Temple, though I think contributing to the great taste was the sourcing of fresh produce.
 
QF82 last Thurs in J - was offered two choices of bread, neither sourdough!! Much to my disappointment!!!

Love Sourdough!!! It was the best part of my meal on J flight last week - well with exception of the 1/2 bottle of wine i consumed on the short SYD-ADL flight. ;-)

Sorry I misread your post:) Definitely going to be heading back there again as well (and maybe a trip to Nobu in the near future too; it is next door after all ;)).

No problem. I sometimes don't explain/express myself clearly in text and the original meaning can get muddled.

I too plan to hit Nobu soon. I haven't been there since the first year it opened up. think it's about time. Loved the Cod with Miso sauce. Hope it's still on the menu. Enjoy :D
 
I thought of this thread when I was offered bread on my last couple of flights. As a lover of sourdough bread, of course I asked for it. :D

Ah yes. Cod with Miso. One of the classics of Nobu, and a truly amazing dish. Looking forward to having more!
