I was going to post this in the morning, but as the Sheraton here in Toronto decided to wake the entire hotel up with a lovely *DING DING DING* at 5am (which isn't the fire alarm), then explain the meaning 5 minutes later, while continuing with the *DING DING DING*....here I am.
(First of all, just wanted to say it was nice to meet you yesterday Lindsay, and thanks for trying to guest me into the F lounge (it was worth a shot
). Hope you guys enjoyed it.)
My fun came at LAX though. I qualified for Plat on the flight over, and knew that my status wouldn't have posted yet, but figured it was worth asking (to get into the Flagship lounge). Sure enough, status hadn't posted (actually, still hasn't) and so the Admiral's Club it was. No worries.
Walking towards the bar, and my colleague taps whispers "Hey, isn't that the guy from The Office?"
Looked around and sure enough, there was Steve Carell (The Office (US), 40 Year Old Virgin, Evan Almighty etc...he was also on the front cover of "American Way" a few months ago). I'd been a huge fan for years (and The Office is currently my favourite TV show), so I had to go and say hi!
Shook his hand, told him I was a huge fan (and I'd just seen Evan Almighty on the plane and really enjoyed it), then asked for a photo, which he was more than happy to allow. Everything I've read was spot on - he's a really nice, friendly guy.
So there you go..if I'd gone into the Flagship lounge I would've missed meeting one of my favourite actors!
I've never seen a celebrity while flying so I was pretty happy with myself.
Cheers,
