Solo traveller deals

Fencox Travel, a small group, travel company that doesn't charge single supplement and everyone gets their own room. I suppose you pay for it somewhere, but the trips I looked at today seemed reasonably priced for small group travel. I haven't travelled with them, but it's a sister company to Patch (women only) and I've heard good things about them.

I have looked at Fencox, which is a brand of Leatherback Travel.

What I noticed is that they offer similar trips under different brands, and so a single - price wise - it doesn't really matter if you travel under the Fencox brand or one of their other brands and pay the single supplement

For example, "Magnificent Rail" does a "Budapest to Istanbul by rail" leaving Aug 27th.
It is $11,399 + $2,465 single supplement ($13,864 all up)

The Fencox version of this trip heads off on August 31st and is $13,981. ($117 more)

Bottom line, Fencox appears to be no cheaper than just paying the single supplement on other of Letherback's trips so would not restrict myself to Fencox - even as a solo - if looking at a trip with this provider.

I just got back from "Magnificent Rail's" Singapore to Bangkok and thought it was a decent holiday - around the "Intrepid Comfort" level of facilities - though the rail portions were disappointing (partially due to the unreliability and infrequency of the Thai rail system).

Personally I find their new "Salt Caravan" (specialist foodie tours) quite interesting though we are getting off the topic a bit with that. trips — Salt Caravan
