Hi, has anyone been to Sofitel Sydney Wentworth and accessed the Club Sofitel? Any thoughts? Either this or Sofitel Darling Harbour (but of course there's a big price difference). Was recently at the ShangriLa Circular Quay Club on level 30 (obviously views amazing) so just wondering how the Sofitel club compares. Thanks.

I went there a couple of months ago. The lounge is a nice place. A bit crowded but there was another room that they hadn't yet opened. Good spread of cold cuts and cheeses during happy hour. Some mediocre canapes like sausage rolls. Nice wine and long drinks, attentive service. All in all pretty good not amazing.

Thanks, did you try breakfast?

Tried breakfast their during my last stay (Dec 2022). Quieter space than the main restaurant. Decent selection, but not as extensive as the main buffet. That being said, you can order food from the main buffet (e.g. made to order hot foods).

Agree with TripTrap regarding the lounge In general. Afternoon tea is pleasant - lounge usually not busy, with tea/coffee/juice/etc + sandwiches and cakes. Nice spot to get some work done or just relax. Evenings are certainly busier so pays to get there early for choice of seating.

We have often stayed here. Club is OK but not one of the better ones IMO - drinks are fine but canapés are pretty ordinary. Our breakfasts have always been in the Garden Restaurant not the lounge. Buffet breakfast was fine.

I would challenge your assertion that the Sofitel Darling Harbour is necessarily more expensive. Certainly if you have an Accor+ free night stay it can certainly be worth your while redeeming it at such a property. In addition, with Accor+ the pricing on some days can be only slightly more than your typical Sydney CBD stay (i.e. $300/night). From what I have read (as I haven't stayed there before) it's a very solid hotel and arguably the best hotel in the CBD.

Would be curious if someone could comment on what the lounge is like at the Sofitel Darling Harbour.

Buffet breakfast was fine.
Respectfully disagree with the assertion that buffet breakfasts are acceptable. Having been spoiled at the Movenpick Hobart, I would make the argument that when staying at a luxury property you should be able to order a-la carte rather than experience the Las Vegas style buffet that most Accor properties have set up.

If you are Accor Platinum, is your complimentary breakfast at the Club lounge or the main restaurant?

Your choice.
Is there a particular benefit of having breakfast in the restaurant versus at the lounge? For instance, do they offer a la carte breakfast options at the restaurant (but not at the lounge)? Or perhaps the lounge is quieter for breakfast than the main restaurant? Curious as I've got a stay booked in a couple of months.

Had breakfast there yesterday and we used the lounge. I prefer the restaurant purely because the range is better. Unfortunately, yesterday the queue to get in to the restaurant was really long and they are so slow to process guests, so we used the Club Sofitel. That was quite disappointing . Poor selection, hot food was not hot, and they took forever to replenish food.
