Hi all,

Have booked this hotel for 5 nights in July 2014 - Superior Hollywood Hills view King Room.

Have stayed here once before, but had no status. Anyone stayed here as a Platinum ???? Tips, on what I can expect ?? (If anything ! LOL).

Also, I have searched - and it is probably looking at me in the face, but I can't see it - does this hotel have an Executive Lounge ???

Cheers,

Brooke

Go to the Sofitel website and search for the hotel and the features will be listed. Did this recently while in Vietnam. Alternately do a dummy booking through Accor.com and select the compare hotels feature for the same. Unfortunately I'm on a mobile device so it bumped me to the mobile sites so I couldn't find your requested info.
Worst case email them any questions at mailto:[email protected]

I stayed here for 3 nits in December. Fantastic, genuine staff. Fantatic hotel. Welcome gift of fruit from memory. water everyday. Upgraded as a plat from a suite to a better suite. So I'm not surewhat theyll give you for a king room. Got drinks vouchers also. Didn't try brekky though. Being right opposite the shopping centre helps. No lounge.
Would return in the blink of an eye.

The thing with status and Accor, please lower your expectations and what ever you receive is a bonus.

it is very unstructured program IMHO. Given that half of America would be on similar status, I would rely on the type of room booked and amount paid.

Write a letter to the GM a few weeks out to introduce yourself, let his/her know when you will staying and that you look forward to the experience. This does no harm at all.

Let us know how you get on.

Did you get any points for your stay, as from what I have seen the cheaper rates accrue no points and we lost our Gold status this year and are working hard to get it back.

Thanks Sprucegoose - I always book the level of accommodation (and airline travel) class that I am happy to stay in, anything above is a bonus. I don't stay in many Accor properties, but know from the forums that status recognition can be inconsistant at best - so was just wanting some personal experiences.

Awsome ! Thanks Deewhy. We really loved it the last time we stayed - but, as I said, had no status. Did you have to "prompt" at check in, or was all the benefits you listed just forthcoming ? I sometimes find it hard to "ask" for benefits - but I will if pushed :)

Stayed in August as a Plat. Sent a pre stay email to the generic address quoting stay dates and my status. Was upgraded, given welcome plate of fruits and chocolates and free drinks in the bar. Lovely hotel, great location and staff. No Lounge.

How did you end up Brooke01? I have booked the exact same room level for a 4 night stay next month. I am a Platinum member too.

Did you end up emailing them? Any upgrade or benefits?

Hi chooms,

Sorry for the late reply - not long back from our trip and moving house. Fun times !

Have to say I was pretty disappointed with the Sofitel Beverly Hills. I think we were treated better the last time we stayed, when we had no status !

I had a few emails back and forth before our arrival, they were aware that I was a Platinum member.

We arrived around 1pm - room wasn't ready (no problems, check in wasn't until 3 anyway). Asked them if they could maybe put a "hurry" on the room so we could checkin a little earlier as we had been on a 14hr flight etc. Said "yes" and they would ring us when it was ready. We went and had some food and when 3pm came and went we went back to the hotel - room still not ready, go sit in the bar. Could we use our "welcome drink" voucher that we get as a Plat to use whilst waiting at the bar - no as you haven't checked in yet ???? Too tired to argue, we went to the bar - our promised "we will come get you when your room is ready" never came - we eventually checked in at 4.15pm.

Room was exactly what we requested - nothing more, nothing less. It was a nice room with a nice view of the Hills on a higher floor away from the elevators. The hotel was not full.

Found there was an arrogance to the staff this time around that we didn't see before. It's a shame as I really like the location. I don't think we will stay there again.

Hope your stay is a better one than ours - keep us updated :)

Cheers,

Brooke

Staying here right now and I have to say, very impressed.

Here for four nights and they have upgraded us to a Beverly Suite on the Penthouse floor for the entire stay. Booked the cheapest room possible (Superior King).

Only 1 complimentary drink voucher though...
