Watching "Weeds" on Netflix and the soundtrack is terrific. It's a decade or two old. A song called "Most Wanted" by Cults caught my attention.

It's easy to find on Youtube but here's a link anyway. Don't let the Weeds reference misguide you - it's about heroi_.

I've spent most of the day listening to them when I should be working.

RIP Brad Arnold - lead singer and songwriter of US band 3 Doors Down - who passed away a few days ago at the age of 47 after a battle with stage four clear cell renal carcinoma.

Never ceases to amaze me how many songwriters who die well before their time have something in their catalog that could almost be viewed as prophetic in hindsight...

Always loved this ballad he wrote and performed with Bob Seger... Chances are some of the frequent business travellers on AFF could associate with the sentiments....

I like that ballad, again I thought I had a reasonable knowledge of music, but obviously not!

Heard this person this morning on ABC Jazz as part of a threesome from the album Coryell, Bailey, White,

Larry Coryell - Wikipedia

I will admit there is a lot of stuff on ABC Jazz that I'm not too keen on.....
2nd clip too manufactured.
Used to listen to alot of prog rock and jazz in the 70's. Heavily into Weather Report, Billy Cobham, then on the jazz side Eberhard Weber etc. I'd buy alot of albums in Japan which had a strong jazz following back then.

Just flicking around tonight and listening to Kid Creole again. Darnell was near as dammit 75 when this was recorded last year. Love the video quality.

Given I’m a captive audience on QF163, I’ve been reacquainting myself with Muse’s Simulation Theory (Concert) Film from back in 2020. These guys sure know how to put on a show!

One of my few regrets is that I never saw him live.

One of my favourites, still very much applicable today, if not more so, of course as usual, ymmv.

Yes pity indeed. Managed to see him twice, last time at the Pavilion in Brighton UK around 79.

Dwezel's band, Zappa plays Zappa, came to BNE a few years ago and we got front row seats, right in front of the speakers. :( Didn't take earplugs and I don't think my hearing ever recovered, but the music was good and true to the original.

Apart from the Flo and Eddie - Mothers of Invention albums (just another band from LA), my favourites are One size Fits All and Overnight Sensation, then again Joe's Garage albums (I, II and III) are excellent as are 1988 - You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 1/2 and 1991 - The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life.

One of mny favourite songs is ..

She was the daughter of a wealthy
Florentine Pogen
Read 'em 'n weep
Was her adjustable slogan
She was a debutante daisy
With a color-note organ
Deep in the street
She drove a '59 Morgan...
