So, what music are you listening to now?

Continuing along my J-Pop/J-Rock journey of discovery, I’ve encountered Band-Maid. Formed in 2013, the group combines hard rock music with costumes modelled on Japanese maid cafés. Mock them at your peril though because these women sure now how to perform!

But don't forget the Australian connection to one of the pioneers of Heavy Metal/J Pop crossover of Ladybaby

good program last sunday!

Have Babymetal’s new album Metal Forth on high rotation now that it’s finally dropped. Have been enjoying all of their collabs thus far, but getting right into their latest two with Bloodywood and Spiritbox…

I’ve also now come across Lovebites. The pianist (who is much more than that as you’ll see) just blows me away :eek:

Imagine being able to play like that. That’s a lot of rulers hitting knuckles to get to that level.

MrsK and I are attending the latest in the Australia Rock Collective's projects, Dark Side of the Moon - I'll report back in the morning. They did an excellent job of Led Zeppelin IV

And it was a great night. They covered the album Wish You Were Here as the first set, and then after intermission Dark Side of the Moon. As finish off/encore tracks they covered Arnold Layne, Pigs on the Wing, Another Brick in the Wall (with audience participation), and finally Comfortably Numb. One of the guitarists Davey Lane has a tattoo of Syd Barret as he was heavily influenced by Pink Floyd in his mid-teens.

Listening to the original album in the car on Monday morning, they nailed the intent and style of Pink Floyd brilliantly. I can't wait to see what ARC will do next - maybe Born to Run?

My new buzz is walking to live ; without music my brain counts steps for cadence which gets boring
I am working through saved stuff cut from cd's but surprised at what works.
Modern and country wins every time and some very favourite classical genre fails dismally.
Unplugged was a big help yesterday...
