So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

In that case, see if you can still find a Mighty Boy in good condition. That will really make you laugh as the valet drives it away.

I am seriously considering buying a ute.

I have absolutely no need for one.... I just think they are cool!!

Valet park this!!

The HSV Maloo is basically a 2 door, 2 seat sports coupe that's acceptable to drive to work sites and client meetings - it doesn't matter that you can load one up close to 6 figures because it's got a Holden badge and a 500kg payload.

If you do want to make the Valet guys work for their money, pick up a nice small US-built Ford ute:

2012 Audi A5 1.8T Coupe, optioned up with Pearl effect paint, nappa leather, Navigation package, and LED daytime running lights. I was surprised at how many options came standard considering it's a VW Group vehicle - like the groovy stop/start engine function at red lights.

Congrats - the A5 coupes look fantastic!

Is it a 1.8T or 2.0T engine?

I got the 1.8T. New engine option with the facelifted A5 range. Great little engine, very creamy with smooth linear power delivery, no sudden torque surge unlike older turbo engines.

Thanks for that - I didn't realise they'd added a 1.8T back into the range.

Test drove an Audi Q3 which rides really well, great fuel efficiency but just a tad too much to replace my battered old Maxima!

BR if you get a ute people will think you want to help them move house so if you do get a ute let me know and I find a sticker which will say"Yes this is my ute and NO I will not help you move house"

Had a look at at Q3 a few weeks ago a bit small but the Q9 great size but a bit more than what I want to spend.

I now drive a Mazda CX7 from a VW Gold
Mr Loves2travel currently drives a Rodeo however, he is looking to upgrade to either a Navara or a HiLux.

I have a (currently unregistered) cherry red 1967 MK 1 MGB. Rego : MY MGB
It goes But I want to restore it......well get someone to restore it ......frankly every time I think I can afford it, I find something else a bit more important to do....like lunch in AKL. :)

During the day I drive a Kluger Grande.

My hope is to buy a Q7 next, but once again I have had other more pressing matters than a car, and besides the damn Kluger just keeps on going without missing a beat.

I drive a 2011 (November) commodore with a couple upgrades. Cheap, tidy car to run. I don't give much respect to cars if I don't have to. Ie, eat, drink, dirty feet etc. so the commy u don't have to look after it.

In the family pool we have a newish a4 which I detest. A newish 320d - which is a Beaty of a car to drive, but again I have to look after it so I tend not to drive it. A 2011 Hilux which I love. It's a Beauty of a machine. Especially compared to a prado Etc.

Cars are nothing but a money hole IMO. As long as its a clean, well performing car - I'm happy :)
if I lived in a city, I wouldn't even bother owning one

What does a Q9 look like? I thought they only went to a Q7.

Q9 is coming in 2013? and bigger than Q7 but more expensive as well.(Was told that by an Audi dealer)

Q7 was an ok size for us similar size the Kluger IMHO

Q5 is smaller than a Kluger IMHO

My car lease is up in the next 6 month's or so.

I have a black 2008 Calais V.

Never getting black again! When I convince myself to spend the money to start off-roading with the extended family/friends in my own car, I'll look at a LR Rangie, Disco (my parents' Disco 3 is a great vehicle) or possibly a Prado.
