So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

Found a tyre place in the Uk that ships to OZ:

Prices seem very reasonable. Of course have to factor in the cost of installation here in OZ and lack of warranty

Bought 4 Nokian WRD4 for a landed price of AUD$891 (not including customs duty GST). The usual price is $1800 or so incl GSt and installation.
The usual Aus Nokian (snowtyres.com.au) distributor can't supply this tyre because his container has departed.

Not my usual car but I was collected by Emirates Chauffeur service in a Maybach a couple of weeks ago. I had no idea how much it cost until I started asking 'those in the know'

The tyres have arrived. Just 6 calendar days via Fedex

Ordered and shipped Friday

Somewhere near Liverpool UK - STN (Road)
STN-MEM (FDX 1)
MEM-HNL (FDX 143)
HNL-SYD (FDX 73) Arrived in SYD Sunday, Delivered Thursday
SYD-home (road)

Interestingly one aircraft operated the MEM-HNL-SYD sectors probably allowing a fast transfer. AN MD-11 trijet.
If it was not for Easter it may have been delivered Tuesday

No GST/customs duty
 
Yes, I've noticed some fun models in the USA to hire on the relative cheap, like those Mustangs. Not much of the sort here in Oz unless you want to fork out several hundred per day!

I drove a 1989 SAAB 900 Aero Turbo – the classic Swedish driver's dream with the odd few glitches here and there. But haven't driven in a while since moving to BNE.

Mustang down Highway 1 was a bit of fun (this was at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo - so kitch, so awesome!).
