So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

A year old - bought this time last year. And very well looked after. Woe betide the person who scratches her.
I have had two new cars and both times they were damaged within a month by some careless cough.

I am starting to look around for my next car. I currently drive a Pajero and am tossing up between a Triton or Amarok. Fortunately I don't have to decide in a hurry, so will have an opportunity to see what run-out or end of year deals are around.

A duck committed suicide on my S3's grille the other day. Very annoying.

Ignoring VWs other issues, the new Amarok will be available with the 3 litre six cylinder diesel used in Touareg (and others). Should make it a much more interesting vehicle.

Any reason not to consider a Ranger, they were entirely designed and engineered in Australia, not built here though.

Yesterdays snow picture. This was taken after 9am, so I presume that quite a bit would have melted by then.

I am looking forward to trying out the 3 litre. The 2 litre is still a good engine, and should be discounted when the 3 hits the showrooms. So I may find the runouts more tempting than their replacements.

The Amarok and (upper spec) Tritons are the only utes with AWD transmissions. I.e. they can be used in 4WD on bitumen whereas Ranger and their ilk cannot.

I have a feeling that they'll price the 3 litre off with the fairies. They don't seem to realise that they're on the nose with many who would have previously happily bought from them. I had the 3lt in an Audi Q5, and it was in a different league to the 2lt.

On a slightly different note, but pertinent to keeping your new car looking good.

If you are driving on a country road, and the car in front of you suddenly brakes very heavily, it's not a great idea to use that as an opportunity to pass. Wife just rang, and she did just that to avoid a kangaroo. The woman who took the passing opportunity possibly passed something she didn't mean to.....

I'll play along here, I currently drive an F30 BMW 328i sedan. It's been a solid daily driver for the past 3.5 years of ownership but with free servicing ending this year, i'll be changing over very soon.

I purchased my 328i in 2012 and just changed over to the 330i last month. I looked around at different makes/models but kept coming back to the 3 series. Very happy with it, noticeable improvements in driving and some interior bits and pieces. Just wish they had permanently fixed the hideous creaking noises that come from the door surrounds. First item to be fixed under warranty.

What are you thinking of changing in to?

Nice choice! My 328i is a 2012 also. I've been incredibly happy with it since day one so I've had my eye on an F30 LCI as well. But if I get another BMW it'll most likely be a 4 series. As much as I love the 3 and 4, I'm just wanting something different.
The next car has got to be a coupe (just because) so I've been pricing up a Mercedes C300 coupe and an Audi TTS right now. I'm leaning towards the Merc purely because it'll be a more comfortable car with kerb appeal.

I was looking at the 4 GranCoupe but couldn't resolve the rear 3/4 styling in my mind so stuck with the sedan.

I think it'll be good to change it up and get something different. The Merc C Class coupe certainly looks good! Not that my opinion matters at all but I would also go the C over the TTS.

The C Class couple does look very nice especially with the sportier kit.

My M135i is getting serviced soon... and currently investigating tuning options. Sometime it's just got to be a little faster.

The 4 series rear end is definitely polarising. That's why the M3 is such a beautiful car, 4 series front end and 3 series rear!
TTS is only in the running due to its performance and virtual dash but the C coupe is a daily car that would be easier to live with. I'm definitely leaning more towards the C.
Enjoy the new 330i, you can't go wrong with an F30 (although I'm sure E90, E36 and E46 purists will say otherwise. ;)

M135i has already got to be a pretty quick whip! How much more will a tune give you? M2 territory power and performance wise???
