and got my plat bag tags today, they are really lovely! can't wait for the next trip, just the tags alone made me feel important 😂😂😂 seriously though this is a girl who hardly flew anywhere and when i did economy was the only option, now im flying business everywhere like im worth a million bucks lol. thanks virgin, don't quite know how i got here but im loving it!

funny thing was, while i was taking the family to the virgin lounge at the airport last month i gave a big smirk to hungry jacks as i passed. Their cough food that was alway cold and expensive (it was always the cheap before flight meal) and that horrific mess of a dining room that was never clean. Oh how i appreciate every time i travel now, especially the lounges.

This resonates with me quite deeply! I can live without the lounge, but it is very nice to have.

I was thrilled when I got my platinum box of tags last year (they’re surprisingly heavy!). Enjoy row 3!

OP, walking into the lounge :)

So can platinum access different lounges than standard gold members?
In Abu Dhabi they can. WP get First lounge there and Im still upset that I had so little time to enjoy all the delights.

Etihad First Class lounge in Abu Dhabi, flying any class on Etihad, comes with 15 min massage.
Virgin Atlantic Revival Lounge - on arrival on Virgin Atlantic at Heathrow (also can book a 15 min massage free of charge)

Platinum has pretty nicely improved my recent travel experiences, and allowed me lounge access on 4 continents that wouldn't have otherwise been possible (well, gold and platinum have netted this). The F lounge in Abu Dhabi makes economy long haul so much less dreadful as there's a nice little treat to break things up. On just about every long haul Virgin and Etihad flight there's been minor extra treatment such as J headphones or preferred meal choices. It's very basic stuff but helps immensely, and so something I'll struggle to let go of, and hopefully won't have to. Only time in the air will tell.

Also just made it to WP and agree that the tags are quite heavy. Looking forward to those little extras

Also recently made it to Platinum, and enjoying the Economy X selection on flights. Didnt get to use the lounge in Syd much as i'm always tight on time before flights and where possible I use PP for a meal before flight (unlimited PP via Citi).

I didn’t realise Etihad had perks like that when flying economy. I have my first Etihad flight coming up in a week. After reading some media about their recent cuts, I’ve been regretting booking Etihad rather than my usual Singapore, but maybe it won’t be so bad. I am looking forward to experiencing the F lounge in Abu Dhabi at least.

Don't count on the extra service but certainly I've had times when I've been asked for my meal preference ahead of the rest of the cabin.

The F lounge in AUH is nice.

This. I've maybe had a greeting or something extra last 3/6 EY flights including on a AUH to Europe flight. I thought there may have been more of a focus on sectors to Australia, as presumably there's less EY FF top tier on these flights to Oz, so it was nice to get this elsewhere but shouldn't be expected. If they'd just add seat selection to the arrangement then I'd really be thrilled.

yes exactly. A greeting is nice, but it’s not a big deal. If they added seat selection on the other hand, that might put Etihad ahead of SQ for many VA WPs travelling to Europe in Y.
