Slow posting of QFF points and SCs after a JQ flight

This has happened to me twice now so I'm curious to know if it happens to anyone else.

If you fly 2 JQ sectors on the same day, only one flight posts within 48 hours. The other one doesn't and I've had to lodge a missing points claim.

Seems to vary. I flew 4x one-way sectors: on 05 Nov, 06 Nov, and then two sectors on 09 Nov. All but the final sector on 9 Nov credited within 4 days, but the final sector took many weeks.

I did wonder if it makes a difference if you OLCI or check-in at the airport using kiosk or in person. My flights were a mix of this.

Are we back to slow JQ posting? I'm now at 3 weeks since my last JQ flight.

Flight I took in Feb posted 2 days later.

I've now waited 8 days with no posting, when I messaged Jetstar they informed me that the official time frame is 6 weeks.

This was for an international flight with check in at the airport

Jetstar canā€™t do anything. You need to go through Qantas Frequent Flyer. Lodge a missing points claim first then wait 14 days (which is the SLA), if it hasnā€™t been done by then, Iā€™ve had success historically calling them to have the points and SC credited.

I've taken a dozen of status credit accruing flights and have never had to wait more than 2 days after taking the flight for it to post. We'll need some more information to help you with this one:
  • Was it an Economy or Business class fare? Which bundle did you book the JetStar flight? Starter, Plus, Flex, or Max?
  • When did you provide your Qantas Frequent Flyer details to JetStar? During booking? During check-in?
  • Do you see any notations on your JetStar boarding pass to indicate whether your Qantas Frequent Flyer was accepted?
This remark by customer service that it takes weeks for status credits to post is complete poppycock, especially considering Qantas owns JetStar and they are Qantas is the only frequent flyer program you can credit to.

2 JQ flights recently. JQ920 (24/4) and JQ765 (30/4). Both with a max bundle. The credits from 920 credited within 48 hours but am yet to receive those from 765. Both times QFFP noted on boarding pass with FF number at booking.

And EK Skywards?
Didn't realize BlingAir lets you collect milage from JetStar flights. Then again, it's not surprising considering you can use your valuable BlingAir points to book flights on EasyJet.

Nevertheless, the point still stands, crediting should have happened by now. I would wait the two weeks then submit a request to get this sorted

  • Economy max class
  • Provided during booking
  • On my boarding pass it shows QFFP which I presume is Qantas Frequent Flyer Program

I've submitted missing point claims, which have a processing time of 23 May 2022 and 25 May 2022. Last time I did a missing point claim there was no action for weeks after the "processed by" date, so I had to email the frequent flyer email address

I can never submit online points claims with Jetstar. Unsure why (says I haven't completed all the fields but I have).

I just go straight to email and attach boarding pass screenshots. I just submitted two yesterday, we'll see how quick they are.

Sounds as though you have been lucky but it's by no means poppycock that it can take weeks.
I've had points within 24 hours but have also waited months. A missing points claim is unlikely to be even looked at if you haven't allowed at least a fortnight. After six weeks you should have no problem in ringing them and insisting on an immediate credit.

I sent an email chasing my points on Wednesday night, and received an email back within 2 hours (not the auto reply - got that as well earlier) - that they were reviewing my claim and I should see them on my profile within 24 hours.

Which was very ambitious.

It didn't happen, we're now in the 24-48 hour period; I guess they're waiting to hear back from Jetstar.

One other thing to consider - how are you checking your points balance? Is it via the QF mobile app? I find the website tends to update the balance and statements a little bit quicker than the mobile app.
