Hi all

Today I stumbled on a neat little deice - a "Slice Safety Cutter) ( Slice™ Products | Ultra-sharp, High-tech Ceramic Blades)

It is a simple neat little cuter to cut things, open blister packs etc. I was wondering if this was a prohibited device and if not would it be picked up by xrays as it is ceramic?

I often have things that need to be cut/opened whilst travelling and this could be a useful tool...

I'm not sure if it is legal but this tool has joined me onboard in my carry on in 3 different countries by mistake.

VICTORINOX SWISS TOOL RESCUE WITH SCISSORS, BELT CUTTER, AND POUCH - MODEL 3.0326N - MULTI-TOOLS - VICTORINOX - The Best - Camping Gear | Tactical Equipment | Police Gear Security | Military | Survival | Combat Clothing | Backpacks | Navigation | Arm

Scary stuff when some are complaining about water bottles.

You will be able to pack it next to your Glock 7

Urban Dictionary: Glock 7

LOL

Mr!

I wouldn't risk it. I believe non-military and non-deep-sea diving ceramic knifes have to have some metal content to show up on standard screening devices.

X-Ray machines do not only see metal objects. They can see lots of different materials and represent the shape to the operator.

So unless you happen to have this cutter in your pocket as you walk through the metal detector, its likely to be spotted on the x-ray machine. Now its always interesting to consider whether or not the x-ray machine operator is going to notice the strange shape on the screen.

I realised it also has a magnet in it so not possible to put in my pocket.

I do wonder if in the side pocket that this shape would be picked up:

OK, now I know the device.

The 'blade' is approx .5 mm long (more like a sharp crustal point). The worst you could do with something like that would be to scratch someone ...

I reckon you'd be fine.

Is it just me and my browser, or is there something strange about the image and text in the previous two posts

simongr has inserted two images from the web site - they are out of alignment due to being different sizes. Presumable their positioning on the actual web page sorts that out.

The image I longed is a single images of the same item.
