Hi anyone used Skyscanner? If so is it reliable? Want to get a flight from PER - SIN via KL ,can get it for About $ 769 rtn,, how do I go about trying to upgrade with QF points from Y to J, look forward to your replies, Bob

Skyscanner is not actually a ticketing agent. They are very useful for searching for the lowest fares, but will then transfer you to a third party website to complete the booking. You usually get a choice of which online travel agency to complete the booking with.

I would generally use Skyscanner to search for the lowest fare across a selection of dates and airlines, then complete the booking with the airline. If you can book it with the airline at the same price as Skyscanner shows then I don't see any reason not to do that.

I did however use Skyscanner the other day to complete a booking which for some reason I couldn't do on the airline's website. (It was a really bad website - I hope they look after their planes better..) I was transferred to a third party website and completed the booking there. I was then given a e-Ticket by the online travel agency which contained a PNR number - with that I am able to manage my booking on the original airline's website, to an extent. But there would be limitations as with any booking with a travel agency and you might have to make changes through the travel agency if necessary.

In terms of using QF points to upgrade, this would not be possible on that route as MH flies it. QF points upgrades are only available on Qantas operated flights.
