SkyAirWorld announces flights to Cairns
SCHEDULED SERVICES TO COMMENCE IN AUGUST 08 Saturday 14 June 2008
Australia’s newest airline, Brisbane-based SkyAirWorld, will soon be operating a scheduled service to Cairns with Australia’s first Embraer ERJ-145 jet.
Subject to regulatory approval, commencing in August SkyAirWorld will operate a scheduled service to Cairns from Brisbane, via Cloncurry return, using the 48-seat Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft. SkyAirWorld has already taken delivery of one ERJ 145 with the second due to arrive at the end of June.
SkyAirWorld has announced the schedule for the service, in line with customer suggestions. The 3 scheduled days of service are Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
SkyAirWorld CEO David Charlton is enthusiastic about the launch of scheduled services to Cairns as the first domestic, Australian route for the airline. “We are looking forward to providing reliable services between Cairns, Cloncurry and Brisbane. SkyAirWorld is committed to servicing the Cairns community and local tourism industry, and sees great potential in Cairns as a destination”.
SkyAirWorld is the first airline to operate the Embraer ERJ-145 in Australia, adding to its growing fleet of aircraft, which also includes the E-170 and E-190 Embraer aircraft. The airline is also looking to base their Embraer ERJ-145 jet in Cairns, providing charter opportunities and employment opportunities for the area.
The ERJ-145 is designed specifically for regional flight operations and offers greater fuel efficiency, longer flight distances and superior comfort than comparative aircraft.
