I'm looking to have a 12 hour Stop-Over/Transit in Singapore so i can have a look around the city on my next trip back from the UK.

The flights I am considering are:

Arrive SIN: QF32 @ 08:00
Depart SIN: QF320 @ 19:45

What happens to my checked in bags? Are the bags checked through to SYD even with the 12 hour stop-over? Do i have to do a LAX style bag drop?

Hope someone can help.

Your bags will be checked through all the way to SYD unless you specifically request not to - though I don't see why you'd need them for the 12 hrs, just have a day pack with toiletries and a change of clothes and this should be enough

You don't need to do the LAX style bag drop - Changi airport has a transit area, if you don't want to leave it, you can stay inside

Singapore is a fabulous place for a stopover, so much to see. The only downside is the climate - hot and sticky all year round

As its less than 24 hours, and if its all booked on a single ticket, its technically a transit not a stopover. As a transit, bags will be checked through unless you ask for them to only be carried as far as SIN.
