Hi,
My watch is currently at the local watchmaker and it seems its condition might be terminal. I am heading to SIN in December. Any value in waiting until I am there to buy a new one? I would only be spending AUD $100-200.

My Singapore based friends now buy watches in Australia! Don't forget the GST refund if you buy something > $300 and leave Australia within 60 days ( = December sometime).

If you're only spending $100-$200 on a watch, I suggest you look on line. You will get more bang for your buck. I have ( as one of my watches) a Kenneth Cole NY. Automatic. A friend bought it ( he passed away and it was gifted to me) from DJ's and paid a little under $300.00. The same watch can be bought on line for roughly $100.00. So depending on what you're looking for , you could buy a "better" watch for the same money. The KC watch is a Chinese movement. A lot of really good watches are being manufactured in China these days, including some really expensive brands
