Singapore QF/BA lounge new changes

Oh boy... why am I not surprised lol.

Any idea of the Emirates partnership access to EK lounge for SG/WP is in effect just yet (or is it from tomorrow)? Will it work in Singapore?

Yesterday I got into the Singapore Emirates lounge travelling on a economy QF flight number on an EK flight as a QF WP. I checked in ok. It was the first Qantas WP card the woman had seen so she showed it around to the other Emirates staff. They seem to be pretty up to speed on the new changes. My bag was tagged with first class tags. The boarding pass had invite to Emirates lounge printed on it.

The Qantas lounge still had the construction boards up. I did peek through a gap and it looked almost complete, but still a lot of workmen doing work.

Did you get in as a WP or a P1? P1s and CLs have been using the Emirates lounge for some months due to the work on the Qantas lounges. Your email suggests that WPs are also now able to use the Emirates Lounge (which is much better than the old QF Flounge).

Knock me over with a feather.

I was there a few days ago, after a rather hellish trip on a much-delayed BA15 owing to a hydraulic fault, and it was not yet ready. Having said that, I thought that the combined QF/BA F lounge was perfectly suitable, although hardly salubrious. Perhaps though, the worst aspect was the young man near me, in his Sunday best of low-cut singlet, board shorts and thongs -- oh, and of course, the enormous white headphones adorning his head.

I got in as a WP under what I assume were the new QF-EK status lounge access rules that just came into effect, rather then the Singapore specific arrangements while lounge is being refurbished. I also assume QF SG flying on QF or EK would get access to the EK lounge as well.

I don't know if this is a new policy ( haven't read all 300 posts on this thread) but was on QF5 to FRA last night in J and was directed to the BA loungein Singapore. ( I'm PS)

So which lounge is best for WP flying J class in July? Best as in best champagne of course. :)

Suggest waiting till the New QF lounge is open and reviews have been posted BUT at this point the EK hands down

I just got refused access to the EK lounge. Left the family in the BA lounge & gave it a crack as a WP on QF6 in whY.....flatly refused. Asked if she could check as others have been granted access after 31st March. Got a smile & a speech saying she knows the rules. Only F, CL & WP1.

I thought WP were allowed in after 31 March:confused:

FWIW the QF lounge still looks very much like a building site....the entrance looks nice as I had sneak peek when one of the builders opened the door. The QF agent out in the general area said it should open sometime next week.

The current lounge is very much a BA lounge.....not a QF sign/agent anywhere. Not sure how a WP traveling with the family will go gaining access as BA count kids as guests. We got in as SWMBO is SG.....so our two were ok.

WPs are allowed access in lounges but not Asia unless in J or F if you believe this page

News might take time to filter through. The FAQ seems in indicate that that page is wrong, I wonder if there is a change??

Pity it doesn't state WP as I'd take the IPad over & give it a go.......IMHO It's a pretty poor show all round by QF. I can't remember the last time I got knocked back by a lounge dragon.

Maybe the hooded dragon is correct & the QF web site is deliberately vague:idea:

Qantas need to sort their stuff out as this SIN amateur key stone cops routine isn't good enough!

Nothing vague about this and Asia is included:

Same as the link posted by markis10........doesn't detail the exact level of QFF for lounge access.

I reckon the dragon is correct - no access for the new level known as SBWP.

Methinks "a change" is more what what true last week must still be true in the mind of the "dragon". Or - "she knows the rules" is the "rules as prior" to April:

While the FAQ says one thing, lounge access details on the QF web page indicate another with Asia exluded from the list of accessable EK lounges, interesting. Its either a last minute shift in detail or teething issues, I had to ask for F tags on my baggage as an example of teething issues, I hope this is similar.

.
I believe the ONLY EK first lounges are in Dubai ... so outside of there, it's either lounge access or not.

Posting this inside the EK lounge.....about to board so will post details in the morning.

Got an official date for the QF lounge.....11th April.

thanks AFF
