Hi AFFers

My wife, daughter and I are finally dusting off the passports and heading to Singapore next week. Slightly nervous as its out daughters first long flight so hopefully we keep her entertained enough not to distract the fellow passengers.

Anyways I was just wondering if anyone has an update on the current immigration processing times at Changi? We'll be arriving at 6pm and hoping its a relatively short wait given I'll be desperate for a Tiger by that stage.

We're planning on having all entry requirements submitted digitally and printed where applicable to hopefully make things a little smoother.

Any info would be great

Cheers

There is no guarantee, just depends on how many flights landing at the same time just before yours. Few weeks ago, leaving Singapore, I did have a look down at the immigration hall. It was packed, all the way almost to the escalators. That was around 6-7pm. Whether being Good Friday made any difference, I don't know.

Yeah it pretty much is luck of the draw depending on how many flights arriving at the same time within the terminal, which can be exacerbated by the holiday season. When I arrived early Feb there's basically no one queuing at immigration, and when I arrived on 30/4 (the day before Hari Raya/Eid al Fitr) the lines spanned a third of T1 immigration (though ASEAN passport holders can use the special lanes which had like 1-2 people in front).

Submitting your SG Arrival Card and your vaccination certificate via the Safe Travel Office website can also shave a bit of time (since you just need your passport, everything else was already submitted and verified).

I travelled there Tuesday last week and it was immediate - no wait. Had the online forms done.

Huge wait for a taxi though. I would recommend you download the GRAB app and use that. Faster and cheaper.

Depends also if it is T1 or T3. In years of travelling, never seen queues in T3 quite like they get in T1. Also one end can be busy and sometimes the other end of the terminal not so much … but it’s a gamble if you choose to go to the other end. Once travelling with someone who needed to queue for the desks (I don’t usually worry as a resident I can use the automatic gates), the queues were back to the escalators, so we went to the other end and the queues were only 2 deep.

Mrs Bodie and I just returned from week in Singapore. Like others we had no wait at arrival for immigration. Arrived at 15.30. About 10-15 min wait for cab. Masks are very much worn everywhere even on street. Obviously indoors is a must. On leaving singapore if returning to aust have screen shot of new digital australian declaration. We had to show that to do bag drop etc. Didnt have to show it again when through departure process. Just passport and ticket.

We have had 2 arrivals into SIN in the last 2 days. through Immigration very quickly.
The first time on 4/5 a 45 minute wait for taxi at ~1500.
The second time on 12/5 walked out of customs and straight into a waiting taxi.

But down our end of town more tourists and no more than 10% wearing masks outside.
