I am due to fly tommorow morning from BKK Singapore with TG in the morning and later that eve with SQ to BOM both krisflyer redemptions but 2 separate bookings .
Does anyone know if TG and SQ currently interline ? Ie can I check my bags all the way through to BOM in BKK ?
If not will I have to clear immigration in Singapore , collect my bags and recheck in ?is that even possible without prior arrangements ?
I am travelling on an aus passport and have my negative pcr and international Covid vaccination etc .
Thanks in advance.

I think you’re going to run into trouble. Yesterday there were multiple people traveling on the first JQ flight Australia to Singapore who had carry on bags only, and were connecting to other carriers/destinations ex Singapore on separate tickets. From what I understand they were denied boarding as they did not meet the criteria of approved transit for Changi. Let us know how you go.

Don't like your chances, multiple issues:

1) Flights aren't on a single booking
2) TG aren't authorised to be a transit airline in SIN
3) your biggest issue is that SIN-India flights can only carry passengers ex SIN. You cannot transit through Singapore to travel to India. Thats why you can't book a flight from BKK-BOM on SQ even though SQ has flights to both cities

From the info on SQ website you won't be able to transit as per robbo135 above
Just about possible you could enter Singapore as a short-term visitor if your first flight has been designated VTL (TG403 currently).
More info on entering Singapore here

On a similar note. Our daughter and family are currently sitting at AMS and heading to MEL. KLM have sold them a ticket and then denied them boarding to SIN.

It doesn't work as they are then to get a Scoot flight onwards and would need to go to through immigration and check in again.

Finding an affordable alternate is proving difficult. They tried to rebook through with Singapore & Scoot but are having trouble getting someone to talk with and who can understand the situation and talk to them in English or Spanish.

Ideas are welcome.

Unfortunately that is not an option, to enter as a short term visitor under the VTL you need to apply for a VTP, you have to apply for a VTP between 7-60 days prior to entry to Singapore.

Yeh the 2 different flights on 2 different airlines on different bookings is problematic. Unfortunately that KLM flight is effectively gone unless you can extract some sort of refund/flight credit by cancelling.

Your best option is still booking SQ or SQ/Scoot on the same booking from AMS-MEL, you may struggle to change your itinerary with Scoot to add the SQ AMS-SIN leg onto it and then connect to your SIN-MEL leg on Scoot. Perhaps you can get a refund/flight credit on your original Scoot ticket, really depends on conditions of the fare/ticket.

Your cheapest available option is really AMS-SIN-MEL on a one booking with SQ operating the first leg and Scoot the second. SQ on both legs will be slightly more expensive.

I could not board . I booked another Singapore flight this morning to connect with my eve flight

My situation is different . Both my flights are on Singapore which is an approved transit airline .
JQ may not be an approved transit airline .
Does anyone know if I get my boarding passes for SIN - BOM in bkk and my bags get checked through , will I be good to go ?

Not possible for Scoot to add another leg to SIN-MEL ticket, their fare conditions do not allow a change in route, only date changes, so that could be difficult.

Might be best to attempt to amend the KL ticket to add in SIN-MEL sector. I can see a departure tomorrow (Sat 18) that connects to Jetstar for about $1700 AUD one way.

Otherwise, might have to get completely new ticket on other carrier. SQ might be difficult as they are heavily loaded SIN-MEL there might be option of booking into the codeshare operated by scoot. Otherwise get to Berlin or Athena and take Scoot from there all the way to Melbourne (I have no idea about rules for entering Germany or Greece though.)

I don't think your new ticket situation is getting you anywhere. The problem as per my earlier post is that you can only travel SIN-BOM if you originate in SIN, you can cannot be a transit passenger this is an Indian Gov requirement. Go try book a flight from BKK-BOM on SQ's website, you can't even though they operate flights to both cities.

You also cannot enter Singapore because you need a VTP which you need to apply for at least 7 days in advance.

When I spoke to Singapore air yesterday they didn’t mention anything .
If by chance i receive both boarding passes on bkk and have my bags checked through . Will I be fine ?

Did you mention you were transitting? Even if you did, the SQ call line operator isn't going to know all the various Govt rules on transitting. If you tried to get the SQ operator to book you a flight from BKK-BOM they wouldn't have been able to due to India's rules re SIN flights as the system would'veblocked this.

If you were to receive your boarding passes and your luggage is checked through then yes you will be able to board, but I think your issue will be when they try and merge both tickets and check you all the way through to BOM, the system is probably going to reject it.

Good luck, hopefully for your sake I'm wrong.

They have managed to get most of their money back from KLM. (We'll work on the rest later).

They have also managed a convoluted itinerary and got the scoot part working. Now going AMS-SAW-ATH-SIN-MEL. First two legs on Pegasus then Scoot from ATH. Some opportunities for rest stops enroute with 15 hrs in Istanbul (currently at a hotel), 6 hrs in Athens then 22 hrs in Singapore and going to an airside hotel.

Another issue is they are due to arrive into Melbourne 5 hrs before the dropping of the 72 hr isolation occurs so nobody seems to know how that will be or should be applied.

Wowsa, that's a itinerary !

At least they got flights home and you've managed to recover some of the KLM fare and you can still utilise the Scoot fare. I hadn't realised Scoot had returned flying to ATH !
