Singapore Airlines is launch customer for Boeing 787-10X Dreamliner

Singapore Airlines has been revealed as the launch customer for Boeing’s 787-10X, the super-stretched version of the Dreamliner due in by 2020. The Singapore flag-carrier will buy 30 of the high-capacity jets, which are expected to seat up to 310 passengers compared to a minimum of 210 seats on the original 787-8 and 250-290 for the longer 787-9, which will take to the skies later this year (before being handed to launch customer Air New Zealand).

AusBT also reports that SQ has ordered 30 more Airbus A350-900s, on top of their 40 current orders, plus options for 20 more which can be converted into orders for the A350-1000.

Strange, after SQ pretty much gave up on the 787 and has let them go to Scoot

I thought SQ would have waited for the 777X which would be a great 777-300ER replacement

I expect to see the 787-10's to end up with Scoot as well

Looking at the capacity of the aircraft, it sounds like they could be a replacement for the 330's, which in turn have been replacing 777-200's.
