Singapore Airlines flights to/from WSI starting 23 November 2026

I really hope we get news on what lounge SQ will be using, soon. With just 4 months to go until the airport opens, still radio silence on any lounge arrangements for the airport.

I feel like it almost certainly won’t be an SKL. Possibly Air NZ lounge? Maybe if they have more than one departure there a day. Otherwise probably a contract / Priority Pass lounge would be my guess, but hopefully we get confirmation soon.

SQ lounge will be a contract lounge. I think that’s been mentioned. I’d also expect If not ready or open on Day 1 they will provide F&B vouchers to eligible customers. That seems to modus operandi - although not sure what they do in DRW which has no lounge available for them.

Equally though with only 1.5 international flights a week, with NZ in the morning and SQ at night, will be there be much choice in the way of food and bev.

In Drw, Sq J pax get a voucher for the restaurants / cafes.

I'm based near Parra so both airports are ~30 min for me by road.

Have booked J award tickets for July next year out of WSI as then kids don't miss school that day and I can pretty much do a full day at work too.

We fly back into SYD on the return

The inaugural SQ261 to WSI has been changed to a 9:30am departure which is a bit of a shame to be honest. Looks like the return flight to SIN and all other days remain unchanged.

Wonder what might be the reason other than “operational reasons”?

Maybe they want some ceremony and executives don't want to be at the airport later?

It’s usually an 11:30am start. But you’re right, a 8-9am start might work for more execs right before they pop over to the office.

Or maybe a Minister/exec from WSI would like to be tucked up in bed earlier?

Most likely a big ceremony at WSI so SQ wants to get there earlier for it?

Also maybe they want some coverage and ceremony at WSI as well and want the plane there earlier. This gives it a chance to land not in full darkness.

The usual turn around in WSI is scheduled for 1 hour and 35 minutes. They probably brought it forward so the festivities for the inaugural doesn't delay the return flight to SIN.

Annoyingly, when I search for awards ex / to SYD on Sq, invariably WSI is included in the search results.... WSI is 1.5+ hours from my home and I hope to never use WSI!
