First time trip reporter. I must say I have a new found respect for folks who take those lovely pictures. Mine are a bit rough and ready, but I hope you enjoy. Below is the stroll out to the SYD SQ lounge. I flew up to SIN to meet Mrs Rugby who is there for work and treated myself. We will come back SQ J together next week. With Qantas covering off WP status for next year I‘m happy to be trying a bit of product outside of the Oneworld alliance.

I purposely picked a day flight to get the most out of the F product - 9.05am departure with about 7hrs in the air. With a big day ahead of me I went for a large bacon and eggs breakfast and a strong flat white - coffee was very good and the food excellent - I would have loved to try the laksa. The bubbles was the Penfold’s Thienot x Chardonnay Pinot Noir Cuvée 2012 Champagne - I only tried a thimble and it was a crisp dry drop - thumbs up 👍.

The staff in the lounge personally come and let you know it’s time for boarding, which was quick and efficient at gate 58. Onboard the staff were lovely and 4 of them introduced themselves. We had a full F cabin of 4 pax.

I’ll post the menu later, but a “refreshment” is served first followed by lunch towards the end of the flight. I went for the fish congee, the other option was a ham/cheese toastie. I’m not a big congee fan, but this was excellent. For lunch I went for the SQ signatures of caviar and then ‘booked the cook’ Boston lobster thermidor.

Thanks for the TR - looks like you had a great time. I am a firm believer in day flights where possible. Had planned SQ F in July but ended up on the somewhat lesser QF F as it was DSC offer. Never mind. There’s always next year.

Did 222 last week to experience the Suites…awesome. The only ‘disappointing’ issue was Mumm as the champagne in the lounge. Did enjoy the Penfolds bubbles too

Thanks Rugby, I’m flying 212 in F for the first time next month after years happily in J. Your review gives me an idea of what to expect…..coffee & Penfolds it is 👍🏽
