Singapore Airlines and SAS Programs

Probably a pretty basic question but I need some help. Last year I purchased a ticket from Melbourne to Rome in May. It was a Flat Beds special. Singapore Airlines to Singapore. SAS to Rome via Copenhagen. I am a KrisFlyer member but not with the SAS program. To maximise ponts etc What should I do? Just join SAS and give them the number at Check In. Assume there is no other link between the two airlines even though they sold it as one ticket? Thank you.

Do you want to start acquiring status on Skyteam?

I ask because SAS recognises Krisflyer members' status and earns miles (but not elite miles), a vestige of its time in Star Alliance. The KF earn chart has earn rates on SK. FAQs

How do I work that out? I paid and they sent me the Itinerary which has the flights listed etc. They did it as a "special" so assumed the flights are linked.
I have zero idea, I was hoping either you’d know or someone with knowledge way beyond my “NFI spec” would chime in. :)

I assume you bought it through an agent, maybe you could ask them whether it was bought from a specific airline or is a bundle they put together. And at the same time ask whether your bags will be checked through the whole way I s’pose.
And hopefully someone with a clue will say something about how pointless that idea is.
