Looking at SIN-LHR flights return in J. Now that QF have changed routes, these look like my only options.

CX: SIN-HKG-LHR
EK: SIN-DXB-LHR (To book the QF code share, extra $300-400 on top what CX charge)

I guess the advantage of going EK with the QF code share is I get 440SC and the QFF Platinum bonus, plus I get to check out the EK F-lounge in DXB, and get to try the A380 for the first time. What do you guys think, CX or EK?

I dont want to go BA because of the 5am arrival time.

I have never flown EK. What are they like in J compared to CX and QF?

Will I get the car service if its a QF code share on EK metal?

Do you select seats on the QF website for an EK operated flight?

A friend of mine has flown EK from PER-LHR, and he said that he has only ever got his bags once in LHR. The other 2 times, EK had to courier him the bags. Is this an issue with EK and transiting in DXB? I have flown CX a couple of times transiting through HKG, and bags have always been at the other end.

What about MH on the A380, with the bonus 40 SC each way to go via KUL?

With AY's J as low as SGD5200 versus EK's SGD6035, CX hovering around SGD6830 and - surprisingly - MH up around the SGD7400 mark, why wouldn't you go Finnair?

Don't doubt they are. I just lifted indicatives off each airline's website, I'm sure they could all be found cheaper via a TA or discounter.

You're right, there *are* Business Promo fares available on (very) selected dates.

Positives: more flights, A380 between KUL and LHR, satays (yum!!)

Negatives: still dearer than AY, the Lounges (and T4 at LHR)

I took the MH option, in F as a redemption because a promo came along. I was originally pricing paid J and, while I haven't seen the J seats, I would be happy with MH in paid J for SIN-LHR. You probably have better timings and newer equipment than AY but you do still have several options.

Rumor has it that the reduction in MH ticket costs exPNH will more than repay the visa fees.
May depend on direction E <-> W
