Just wanting to get some ideas from the team. I have a SQ from BNE - SIN arriving T3 late afternoon then another SQ flight departing T2 early the next morning. I was considering collecting baggage, clearing customs etc and going to the Crowne Plaza for the night.
Or the alternate Is it possible to collect my luggage, go to a airside hotel for the night then check my bags in again in the morning.
TIA

Arrive SIN 15.25, depart 09.15. If your going to suggest going into SIN I have 4 days there on the way back so don't really need to go sightseeing
Significant savings can be had away from the airport, such as staying at Changi town or just head down the ecp in a taxi for ten minutes for much cheaper hotels and plenty of hawker centres for good food. The grand mercury roxy is not a bad option.

Ok thanks, that's something to investigate

SQ will check your bag(s) through with a layover up to 48 hours - just keep what you need for the overnight stop in your hand luggage. Then you can decide whether to stay airside or go through immigration and stay at the Crowne Plaza (or other nearly hotel).
Do you do that bag check in BNE or is there a bag drop prior to immigration/customs in SIN

If on the one ticket, and you want to collect your bags in SIN then you may need to ask in BNE otherwise the airline would likely through check them to your destination.

At SIN, you can recheck your bags at any time before you ongoing flight.

When you check your bag in BNE the agent will ask you if you want it checked through to your final destination or if you wish to collect it (and re-check) in SIN. I certainly recommend checking it out through to your final destination unless there is some reason you really need your bag for your overnighter. Since overseas trips cost $1000's or even $10,000's - I would recommend staying at the Crown Plaza (and not bother with looking for less expensive options) - pretty nice hotel and easy to enter/re-enter SIN. You also have time to have a wander around The Jewel.

I agree, spending 6k on airfares the difference of ~ $100 for a good night's sleep and comfortable surroundings.
