Can anyone recommend a good US-based travel agent for a simple Qantas itinerary? Or even a TA anywhere that will accept payment in USD?

I know of a TA who happily books USA journeys, charging in AUD but at USA rates.

They do charge a small fee however.

If you can get to the QF USA website and start the journey in the USA, you should be billed in US$ through a US bank. You do if you use the AA USA website.
Almost all TAs will take any credit card, but many will add their percentage (as well as the bank's CC overseas fees). Sometimes it is worth it. Sometimes the airline will accept the charge directly (IATA card) avoiding the TAs hit.

A bit I forgot.

If you supply information on your international travel ticket to/from/via the USA they can also reduce the +++ payable on the internal flights.

e.g. I have a QF award booking to LAX next month. This TA's services had a significant reduction on the nett payment for my eight segment booking even with their fee.

PM me if you would like contact.

Similar for us with said agent. Only we arrive on a SQ award

A Virtuoso agent will be able to issue in USD as they have access to a US point of sale ticketing centre.

Unfortunately the trip would start and end in Australia.

A bit I forgot.

I will send you a PM to get the contact details for future reference. Unfortunately, however, there's no US travel involved.

That might be an option. Thanks. I'll look into it.

[For the record I didn't start this thread, nor did I choose the title.]

Check out Flightblitz. He's an aussie based in LA and can charge in AUD and USD. A real pleasure to deal with.

Looks good, thanks. The QF sale I was wanting to jump on has since ended unfortunately but I'll keep it in mind for next time.
