Vast majority SQ flts arr and deep T3 - but some do arr and dep T2 - gates are allocated on day of travel and even that can change pre dep - arr gates allocated dependant again on traffic - Crew will announce arr gate whilst you are in the air just before touch down.

My work colleague used google to get gate arrival information for changi the morning of departure, and as CE pointed out, it was an A380 arrival into T2.

Yes most dep are from T3 - but traffic on day of dep can and does lead to gate changes - nothing is set in concrete

I am always impressed how some of the apps and Google seem to know arrival times, delays, departure times, gates and even baggage carousels before the boards or people announce it. I presume they get it from some other system that gets updated first.

Looking at my flights, I depart Changi T2 to go to bkk. and I depart Changi T3 to go back to Sydney. So looks like my flights will be arriving from sydney to Changi in T3 and hence probably have to swap terminals when I am going and on my way back home.

Not necessarily. For example yesterday, looking at Changi arrivals info, all SYD flights arrived at T3, but today (so far, with only 2 listed) one flight (via CBR) is due to arrive at T2. Yesterday 2 BKK flights arrived at T3 and 4 at T2. It can vary.

As noted several times above: Depends on the time of day - your arrival/dep times suggest you'd do best in T2.

Last time there T2 lounge was near empty around 1pm, so served myself a great lunch, had a choice of papers, tv screens etc, but thats probly what you'd expect from a 'regional' lounge at that hour.

No idea what T3 is like mid day - but its always heaving from 8/9pm to after midnight, corresponding with the longhaul flight times. Food/grog appear to be same level in both, the former being better than the latter IMHO.

Oh bugger, ok, so will just have to play it by ear. Wanted to plan my lounges early and also duty free shopping.

Yeah, thats what i had been thinking as well, I was trying to plan my timing to get to T2 lounge and when to leave.

If buying any duty free alcohol enroute back to Australia, advisable to do this first. There is a 90 minute cutoff, so the items you purchase can be delivered to the gate for you.

What times are your arrivals and departures? I'm sure we can collectively make some suggestions.

As for leaving lounges, the key is to be at gate at latest 15 mins before departure. SQ close the gates 10 mins out, and IME never close them early, so 15 mins is a reliable "latest" time to reach gate. If you get there too early (say 45 mins out) all you will end up doing is standing in a queue to go through the gate based security, and on SQ at least, the queues seem to evaporate by T-30. But of course YMMV depending on personality type!

My flights are :- Syd 9:05am - Sing 2:15pm and then from Sing 5:10pm - Bkk 6:45pm.

Return is : - Bkk 3:40pm - Sing 7:15pm and then from Sing12:45am - Syd 11:50am.

BUT, I am waitlisted and did get a letter saying my waitlist is available for the BKK to Singapore flight on my return journey.

Its a conundrum, So my orig flights to depart at 3:40pm from BKK to changi and then had a 5.5 hour transit before my flight from Changi to Syd. My waitlisted flights that left at 6:10pm from BKK to changi and hence a 3hr transit time at changi.

I was trying to confirm it online but it sounds like i need to call them to move my confirmed flight over to the waitlisted flight. From what i have found on some websites and flight seats my current booked flight (5.5 hr transit time) is a 1-2-1 2006J 777-200 seat as opposed to the new waitlisted flight which is a 2-2-2 2009J A330 seat. I didnt realise Singapore still had 2-2-2 seats. Apparently these seats are nowhere near as private or spacious.

BUT it does mean i get 2.5 hours more in thailand and hence a later check out plus possibly more time to spend in BKK lounge, as well as only a 3 hr transit in singapore. Its a 2.5 hour flight but being my first time flying J I was thinking i should be picking the best seats / flights i can currently get.

Here I am again in the SIN T2 lounge (actually departing SQ 237 from T3) and again it is much quieter than the T3 lounge usually is at this time, maybe a bit over half full.

Did you try the T3 lounge? Supposedly quite empty even at the peak times of 9pm-12am

Is that because of the corona virus scare? I am flying in 2 weeks, a bit apprehensive about what the state of the countries i am flying through would be in terms of being able to get in and out etc.

Yeah my dad was there last Friday 7th

EDIT: he said all changi staff were wearing masks however only around 5% of passengers were wearing them.
He was at Changi T3 around 5hrs, from 7pm on the 6th till ~12am on the 7th
