Is it a surprise? Airlines around the world are doing it tough yet we have 2 airliens in Australia gifting status to anyone that wants it.

Not just limited to Australia, UA, AA, Etihad and Turkish to name but a few are also trying to heavily increase the top end numbers of their FF program.

I find the double status credits offers from QF strange as well.

I plan my SCs during my membership year and buy and spend for airfares accordingly.

It does seem unfair that some can get away with spending half the amount of fares needed for SCs. Also, it propels them faster to LTG etc.

I think I would be more accepting of the double status stuff if it didn't apply to life time SCs.

I think anything less than Gold should have exactly no special benefits. Qantas club, club access only. Golds, no priority lines etc. Stop hogging the DYKWIA lines at airports!
