SIA is to close their flying College at the Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) after 11 years of operations. They claim latest aircraft technology as reason to return to Singapore for updated and advanced simulator training.

Cheers,
Dee.

Part of growing trend to teach people how to fly a computer instead of teaching pilots how to fly a real aircraft.

I have fond memories of the school on a work visit back in 2003. My colleague and I stayed in an apartment at Marcoola, and so did the cadet pilots. I'm sure there will be quite a number of vacant apartments around after the school closes for good. Wonder what will happen to the VH-SQ series Learjets (?)

The Lears were sold in 2010, the replacement Citation Mustangs will probably be sold.
