I'm heading over to Dublin in mid-october (arriving on BA12 at 0500 then BA-something from T1 at 0700).

Is there anywhere in T1 to get a shower so that I can freshen up before spending the day in Dublin?

I've got priority pass as well as being QF SG. I looked into the AC arrivals lounge at T3, but they don't open until 0630.

Cheers

If you were arriving into Terminal 3 you could have used your Priority Pass for the AC Arrivals lounge, which does have a shower (and an ironing service!). It may be worth contacting them to ask?

I did think of that, but they don't open up shop until 0630, so I wouldn't have time to get across to T1 for my onward flight to DUB. Looks like I'll be asking the DUB hotel nicely if I can check in early or at least have a shower in their gym.

Since posting I've found out that the UK/Ireland lounge in T1 doesn't have showers and currently, neither of the BA lounges in T1 are OW lounges (ex-BMI) so any access would depend on the phase of the moon and how much I could smile at the receptionist on arrival.

Neither of the ex-BMI lounges had showers last time I visited both of them anyway.

Was it 6.30? Bother, for some reason I thought it opened 5.30. That being said, it'd still be cutting it rather fine anyway.

I think you will find Irish hotels very accommodating to your early check in request these days.

Which hotel is it? Dublin airport also has a PAYG Lounge which might have showers!

I'd check the opening times - I've just had a shower at the AC arrivals lounge in T3 - I arrived on QF9 just before 6:00am and was in the arrivals lounge by about 6:15. I'm sure that I wasn't the first to arrive either. Also I'm currently sitting in the BA/BMI lounge in T1 and can confirm - no showers.

The Air Canada Lounge is no use to the OP as he is switching from T3 to T1 (the corrugated barrel) and will remain airside!

You don't have to stay airside - I used the AC lounge so that I could shower and get my shirt pressed prior to heading over to T1

I'm not planning to stay airside. After 13 hours of being cooped up from SIN, I'll want to stretch my legs.

Fortunately, I have UK and Australian passports, so if the non-EU is full or going slow, I'll just jump across to the EU queue.

Well, I made it to Dublin in one piece although I probably didn't smell particularly nice when I got here as there wasn't time for a shower in SIN between QF9 and BA12 and the UK & Ireland lounge in LHR T1 doesn't have showers. The do however have oneworld emerald and sapphire lozenges on the sign board outside the lounge, so I managed to get a quick breakfast before heading off to DUB. Unfortunately, pancake machines don't seem to have made it to this part of the world :(

The non-EU queue at immigration was non-existent and I was through in less than 5 minutes after a fairly brisk walk from what must've been the furthest gate from immigration. Most of the time at the desk was spent clearing up the confused look on the immigration dude's face as to why somebody born in the UK wanted to enter the country on an Australian passport and why I wanted to enter the country instead of using the flight connections centre.

Fortunately, the check-in desk at the hotel took pity on me and let me check-in a few hours early so that I could have a much needed shower!

Cheers

Steve
