Should I fly with Air China or Shenzhen Airlines?

I am hoping there are plenty of AFFers who can advise me on the questions below.

I am already booked with points to fly
QF from PER -> SIN,
MU from SIN -> PVG[SUP]*[/SUP] and
CX from HKG -> PER
[SUP]*[/SUP]My husband and I are cruising up the Yangtze and should arrive in Chongqing at 8:00am.

I have booked this way as I have to go to work on the Friday morning and the cruise leaves Shanghai on the Sunday afternoon. We prefer the one leg from HKG to PER and I don’t fly at night.

So the only leg unbooked is from CKG to SZX and was looking at elong to book the flight.
The price for ZH (Shenzhen Airlines) on elong is A$124. The price for CA (Air China) on elong is A$143. Both flights leave at 2:00pm; this flight is with CA, code-share with ZH. The earlier and later flights are with ZH, code-share with CA. I could use 14000 points for the flight, but that doesn’t seems to be very good value.

Could any frequent China domestic travellers advise me about the following?
  1. booking using elong
  2. would it be better to book with CA or ZH
  3. could we change to an earlier or later flight if we needed/wanted to and if so, which airline would be more likely to allow us to make the change at the airport.
  4. could I have this last flight linked to all the others
Many thanks in anticipation.
