Should I aim for platinum one next year?

My reset date is the end of september, but I am going to fall 550 status credits shy of platinum one. My credits were earned solely on qantas domestic flights.
I had around 50 flights with garuda this year, on a route which is not flown by qantas, however it is flown by jetstar.
Would it be worth my while next year to start using Jetstar (with starter plus upgrade) instead of garuda? This would get me 20 status credits per flight so enough to get me platinum one I believe. Just not sure if the benefits are worth it as I cant stand flying jetstar.

If your QF domestic flights are in Y and seat selection is important to you then maybe.
Hard to see what else it has to offer you.

If you are based in SYD or MEL (or regularly travel through there for your international flights), definitely go for it. The first lounges are worth it.

The OP is already WP and is asking whether P1 (not WP) is worth it...

But does flying Garuda give the benefits of WP? If not, switch to JQ and the first lounge can be used.

I thought you need QF flight numbers so would the JQ flight numbers contribute to the P1 qualification?

This year the OP is 550 short. 900 can be non QF for uber WP.

Um YES!!!

Go for it, Eddie.

Isn't Deathstar better than Garuda, though?

Isn't hanging better than garrotting?
What a choice to have to make, although FLounge could be the feature that would sway my decision making! Basically eat/drink sufficiently to "inoculate" yourself for the Deathstar flight ahead of you

On second thoughts I too am saying go for it.
May turn out to be a fizzer but better than wondering what if. And you should at least get the introductory upgrades.

Have finally had some time to look at the Platinum One benefits, really doesnt seem that much better than platinum, especially for those perth based.

If you are Perth based I would question the value with Platinum vs Gold!

The jump in benefits from Gold to Plat is huge (primarily Flounge access). The jump in benefits from Plat to Plat1 is far smaller - particularly when you consider how many more SCs you need to achieve it.
