I read on another thread about Sheraton Four Points at LAX allowing you a stay of 24 hours from the time you check in if you give the hotel 48 hours notice.

I did the booking online via SPG website then rang the hotel & spoke to Walter who works in their in-house reservations dept. He said the 24 hour stay offer is only for SPG Platinum & we have SPG Gold.

I since found the link from the thread on AFF below but it doesn't mention anything about having to be SPG Plat, only that the qualifying reservation must be USD119.00 or more & it must be a rate that qualifies to earn points - no 3rd party reservations which I'm assuming means Priceline etc.

I've now completed the template from the above link & sent it off to the hotel so will report back what their answer is.

I had no problems with my stay recently (7:30am check -in) and I am SPG Gold as well. Also convinced Sheraton Gateway to give me the 24hr check -in (better property in my view) leaving LAX - both properties did not have a fridge in the room - can request on your booking.

Hi ozbeachbabe, I stayed at Four Points 3 weeks ago. Booked $119 rate and emailed hotel using online form. 2 days later I've got the confirmation. Checked in at 8am, checked out 6am. I am only preferred member, so you should not have any issues.
One thing to note is that hotel has older and newer wing. Older one has window air con unit and is very noisy. We asked to be moved to a quiter room and got moved to the new wing room - much better.

Thanks for the info fellas. I'll call the hotel & request the new wing but in the meantime I'll wait for the hotel to acknowledge the 24 hour gig.

It's weird how their own in-house res staff don't know about this feature.

Just got acknowledgement emails for the above requests. Our first stay is on a Wednesday and the rate is USD145.00 plus tax & the second stay is on a Sunday night at the rate of USD95.00 tax.

Dear Sir/Madam: Thank you for your request. Your request has been processed and approved. We look forward to welcoming you. Sincerely, Four Points by Sheraton Los Angeles Intl Airport.

The second confirmation in addition to the above spiel said:

Dear Oz Thank you for deciding to stay with us. The qualifying rate for the 2424 is $119.00 and above. Because you have another reservation for 31 Oct your request for 10 Nov is approved as a courtesy. You are all set for both reservations. Regards, Reservations Department.

That was definitely a bonus as I was quite prepared to change the room rate from $95.00 to $119.00 or above to qualify.

Thanks AV8 as it was your post on another thread that originally gave me the heads up on this offer.

Nice outcome. Haven't stayed at this property but know where it is. Really not much around food wise but there are some options.
