Going forward, the best way is to structure your credit card to the person that will benefit most from it. This is on the assumption that you trust each other with the finances.

Hopefully after a while you will have generated enough points to buy at least one ticket or at least get closer to one.

Plan how you accumlate points similar to doing a budget.

Well said, wleong. That's how I foisted by FlyBuys card onto my fiancee adn kept all the others that are linked to my QFF membership. Still, she eyes those points...but she may not get them :cry:

That's what I do. With me and my fiancee, she flies less than me, so if we go away to a hotel / car rental etc., I claim the points for it, because I fly a damn sight more than she does. Besides, I usually pay for the hotel / car rental anyway, so they're 'my' points, technically.

But there's nothing to stop me getting an upgrade for her ; we do it this way, because I earn more points than her per annum, so it makes more sense.

Same with QC lounge access - she accompanies me as my guest, instead of me shelling out for annual guest cards, because I hardly get chance to invite anyone else into the lounge with me. She may come with me a few times a year, and so I always have enough guest passes.

I'm ever so good to her. 8)

Well said Iceman. Use the system to the maximum. You / we are playing the game within the rules laid down. Just making sure we get the most out of them!

My boss and I are going on the same trip to CHI this year. I said to my boss that if he's in the airport at the same time as me, "I'll let you into the QC lounge, if you're good" *laugh*

He's *A elite, but he's only got QF Bronze because he flies *A and not OW.

Even though the goalposts change occasionally (e.g. from 5 to 3 points on partner services), this is all part of the savvy of being a FF.

You have to look out for double points offers, ways of routing the trips around to get the most points / status credits. I look upon it as a sport.

As a result, me and my fiancee both get to use the QC lounge and any other partner lounges, plus we get to combine weight allowances etc. (which we would get anyway), plus duty free whenever we come back from OS together.

The result - with her not drinking too much, I can bring 4 litres into the country quite legally, as long as it's declared.
