SEQ NBR - is it really in order of check in?

Amusingly I had a look at Passbook on the iPhone (which I have used for my last 10 flights) and there is no sequence number on the 'front' panel.
I then noticed the small 'i' in bottom right hand corner which has some extra service info and sure enough at the bottom is the sequence number.

Best I coud find was number 3

I have a 1 on my latest flight. Gate 1, seq 1, seat 1B.

Eek!

1B ptuyie ... 1A my man, 1A!

Last weekend I checked 23 hours b4 my flight and received seq. 16 - at the same time I was able to check in for my return flight and received sequence 1.

1B on a Q400 is like 80A on an A380... But with a bit more leg room ;)

Just to round this out - good example today. Checked in for 409 to MEL tomorrow and 462 on the way back. Seq num for 409 is 17 and Seq num for 462 is 2.

I checked in for a few flights the last few days, one where I had 4 connecting flights and from memory I was 6, 1, 1, 2. I guess I should expect after the first 1 the rest should all be 1, but perhaps someone else on my last flight was connecting from something else and checked in earlier for that than me. Haven't done any upgrades though (as I was in J DOM) so I haven't had the sequence change.

I actually now don't think the sequence changes if you upgrade - although I might test that theory tomorrow on my flight home - only upgrading for the sake of this thread of course ;)

It doesn't change ;) Once checked in, you are stuck with that number 99.5% of the time - :)

Having taken one for the team I can confirm that the seq num didn't change. It's hard work supporting the team like this.
