My grandfather is a senior life member
What options does my grandmother have if she wants to join qantas club?

Will it be cheaper to use partner rates or AFF corporate rates? I'm happy to join here as a gold member if it's worthwhile?

I'm a QFF platinum member is that helps.

Thanks

From recollection a partner member pays less than a full member, but I'm not sure you can mix and match (if he's not corporate then she can't be).

As an individual corporate member you'd be looking at ~$200 off I think, but as a partner it's already a discounted rate.

Is that ~200 off the annual fee or the one of joining fee?

Is there a discount on both fees?

The joining fee is never discounted. It's just the membership fee.

However I last paid a year ago and I can't see prices anymore. Plus I'm on my iPhone. The prices should be available to view though with just a little digging. You'll find the info.

Insofar as your grandmother getting partner life membership to the QP, those types of membership ceased (I think in September 2008) so any membership she might obtain is on her own merit. If 'she' was to become a gold member of AFF 'she' could get a discount on Qantas Club membership, but again she can't do it through yourself, if your were to join as a gold member. Your QF Platinum status will not help your grandmother either concerning QP membership. She could however get access to the Flounge if she wants to travel with you ;), but that is the only way I can think of, without her joining the Qantas Club in her own right.

Does your grandmother travel without your grandfather often? If not I'd say save the $ and just use his membership to access the lounge.

She will be travelling without him. I'll call the helpdesk and Monday and see what my options are.

4 or 5 times a year.
Access to jetstar lounge in ool would also be useful.

The OOL lounge is per entry payment only unfortunately, at least in the case of a QP member anyway.

So she'd probably be paying ~$500 for her first year at least, with 5 entries. Doesn't seem amazing value.
