Someone is selling CX-branded express cards:

Cathay Pacific Airport Express Path X 6 | eBay
"Starting bid: $57 (0 bids)"

At that price i'm not surprised. There are 'bundles' of in/out cards for sale on eBay for a few dollars too. If people buy them remains to be seen. I don't see $25 value in jumping a queue myself (which at times is often shorter than the express queue anyway, and if arriving into MEL there is no express immigration anymore/at present).

The express immigration queue is still there but there's no express queue to leave the hall after you collect your bags any more. Using SmartGate will usually trump Express Path.

Sorry yes that's what I meant :)

I've heard horror stories about the SmartGate queue being hundreds of people deep, but fortunately i've never encountered that (I always go straight to the closest kiosk, and breeze on through).

I don't find anything wrong with selling points - if you have a willing buyer and seller, then it's a win-win situation. I've had the opportunity to transfer points to others in the past because I find that they value points much higher than myself.
I dont disagree with your reasoning for buying and selling but I am not sure how Qantas would feel about it. I have way too many points to risk on a transaction that could be deemed against the terms and conditions.

Yes just imagine doing a sale on eBay and then having your Qantas Frequent Flyer account closed by Qantas.
Now that could be a problem to think about.

Ebay/Qantas are removing the frequent flyer points sales, noticed two this morning for 100,000 & 10,000 points.
They are no longer listed.
