Got this in the inbox today.

I thougt they always assessed segments as part of the upgrading process?
......from email...

Eligible Sectors were introduced as an assessment method for upgrading and maintaining membership on 25 August 2011. Velocity will begin assessing membership levels based on Eligible Sectors flown from 25 August 2012~.

The upcoming requirement for minimum sectors has been flagged for quite a while, but the plan has always been for them to be factored in from August 2012 onward. The new information in this announcement is the exact date - 25 August. Which is what a few on here were expecting anyway given that date marks a year since Platinum was announced.

So you have two more months to earn DJ plat without actually flying on DJ!

Sitting on 83 eligible sectors, that should be no problem :-) just wish they were all flexi with higher status credits.

I noticed my eligible sectors has decreased all of a sudden, only 1 left for me apparently!

Is this similar to Qantas having a 4 flights requirement and using Mr ~ as well?
