If you are interested in Art Glass, have a look at Bullseye Glass exhibition space in Portland. Current exhibition includes work by Mel George, a Canberra artist. There are strong connections between Bullseye Glass and the Glass School at ANU due to Klaus Moje's collaboration with Bullseye to produce of tested compatible fusing glass. Here's a link to their current exhibition Bullseye Projects - Exhibit_Detail

After getting the 124 bus back from the MoF, we went up to Shuckers at the Fairmont here they serve the freshest and some of the best oysters in the world, all locally grown, on ice until freshly shucked and served. Outstanding. We consumed 2 dozen with nice Washington State Chardonnay and Oregon Pinot Gris...

Suck a pity that our Oz oysters are nowhere as good as these.

And, and, and!, they have a happy hour from 3-5 on oysters and wine, beer...

What to chose? Fanny Bay are a favourite.

Beautiful sunny day on Saturday, up to 27C apparently. Few hours trip to Butchart Gardens (CVS bus from Victoria harbour and entry around $60). Fabulous gardens - took hundreds of photos but here's a few...

It is also worth a tour of Parliament House to see the stained glass window with the sun at the top, setting over the union jack.

Which of course upset mother England, as the sun never sets on the British empire. I was told it had been stored away for decades.

Tried that today and was closed on Sundays (LOL until next week...)

Royal BC Museum is excellent. Nice First People's exhibition and very good dioramas.

Yes. Sad. Do try to do better next time! :)

( And don't forget Shuckers in Seattle - better then Pescatore's IMHO.)

For someone who is definitely not into gardens I still managed to spend 4 hours walking around Butchart Gardens in October last year, very relaxing.
Most people take the ferry, but a float plane is great to try between Vancouver Island and Vancouver, and you can land at either the airport or harbour.

Matisse for dinner, not bad, classic French

Creme Brûlée was a little OTT:)
