Most annoyed to find one of our checked bags had the lock cut off and had been opened and the contents rifled. This is the second time this has happened in the last 6 months. Last time we lost some clothing and a possum fur cap we'd specially bought from NZ. Not impressed.:(

Not quite sure what's missing yet but MrsTMA is a meticulous packer with an absolute place for everything, all neatly packed, layered and secured. At least one set of earrings we bought in Tofino are gone, strangely they didn't take two other sets we'd bought as presents. None of these were very expensive however. Sometimes we photograph the inside of the case but this time we didn't bother since we were on the way home.

We didn't actually lose much, I think. It's more the annoyance of thieves rifling your luggage. Luckily they didn't rifle the other two larger bags and get my 6 bottles of Willamette Valley Pinots! Phew.

We have filed a complaint with EK and are waiting a response. One of the prices one pays for priority luggage tags it seems.

NOTE: NEVER pack valuable items in checked luggage. And absolutely NEVER pack irreplaceable items, medicines, valuable documents, phones, cameras, computers, camera and phone charges and things you cannot survive without in checked luggage. You will sooner or later have them stolen, unfortunately.

One would naively expect CCD security on baggage handlers and storage but this seems to be only used as a good laugh by baggage authorities.

Loved the TR.So 2017 pencilled in for a trip to the West Coast.Excuse is to visit my godson who is a winemaker in Sonoma.
Pictures were outstanding.

I too loved your report. Brought back some lovely memories of a trip to Vancouver & Seattle so really enjoyed the pics

I hope you've enjoyed the TR. Might do it again next to time although editing the hundreds of photos each day can become difficult if one also wants to do other things. Also means one has to be relatively sober when one returns to the room each night.:)

It also helps to have a laptop that your travelling companion lets you use occasionally ;)

LOL. Yes! Or one that goes to sleep early. :) :D

Actually unlike the enthusiast Flying Mermaid and MrFM who shoot in RAW and edit TBs of photos on laptop with huge external storage (Go FM! :) ), I didn't use the laptop for photos (Microsoft Surface Pro 3) on this trip. The AFF TR was done from my Sony RX-100 III using the excellent and very quick wireless transfer data method to iPad with Wi-Fi and Sony's PlayMemories iPad app. Then with minor colour and saturation adjustments and some cropping in Photos app on iPad. Photos were transferred at 2MP level rather than full size in PlayMemories to get size directly suitable for AFF forum software and transferred to AFF via web interface. Photos were uploaded to private Flickr site with FlickrStacker from iPad.

The only issue is having the time to edit the daily 100-300 photos down for an update session, but that can be done in the club lounges over drinkies.

When I have time, I'll start a new thread on travel photos and uploading to AFF and Flickr so we can all share our experiences with others.

I'm pleased you went to all the trouble to do a TR.. Complete with great pictures. Thank you :)

Ta Bru!

We're prepared to suffer for 'youse' again soon, hopefully. :)

I should have done one for my very significant birthday trip to Italy last year...
