Seats 11, 91 and 96 D, F (J seats) on new SQ A380 Layout

In September, I and +1 will be on the new A380 SQ in J....trying to get 11, 91 or 96 D, F seats as these are the ones that can be converted into a double bed ....they are all free atm, and when I rang Sq (can't choose them online), I was told they were blocked as they are also the bassinet seats, and he didn't know if and when SQ release them so I can snag them. Anyone have any insights? Is it even worthwhile trying to get these seats? We have previously flown in F with the double bed so I'm sure these will be a huge step down anyway

Comm booking or Rdpt booking? If Rdpt I think you are screwed - I have same predicament for a Sep 2 booking to ZRH - I am trying to access somebody well up the tree to find a work around but am not there just yet.

Therein lies your prob - you can see from seat map that 11D/F and 96D/F are not bassinet seats whereas 91D/F are in fact bassinet seats:




But simply being a bassinet seat does not preclude you from booking the seat - you just need to move in fact if the bassinet seat is reqd on day of travel.

I am 99.99% certain that the double bed combo seats are available to higher class Comm bookings only - but I have not actually been able to get any of my contacts to 100% confirm this - but I am working on it - and working on a way to get around it - so patience grasshopper.

96 D/F were available to select online when myself and +1 flown last year. They are definitely not bassinet seats so I don’t see any reason to block them. The mini cabin down the back is better for privacy as there are only few rows and not much foot traffic.
The double beds config is fantastic, very comfortable and probably the best J hard product in the air at the moment for couples maybe apart from Qsuites which haven’t tried yet. I would do everything possible to secure these seats.

We were in the middle 2 seats in 91 with a bassinet in Dec '17 and the three of us just slept on the double bed very comfortably. Bassinet in the end was only used to store some baby items lol.

I've got the same seats plus 91K for young master coming up in April. If there's room for bub comfortably in the double bed that will be a huge bonus

Good tip thanks! I'll be sure to ask if it's not offered. ~9 months and she sleeps well so I'm thinking we'll be ok with bub. It's the 4 year old that will be interesting: SIN - LHR overnight is a long way in the dark across timezones and I'm tipping he'll wake up with 7 hours to go or something crazy. Still the SQ A380 seems about the best way available for us to get a family to the other side of the world.

Any updates on this CE? I checked again recently and these seats are still blocked. My flights are not til September.

Just got off new 380 SQ830 SIN-PVG - was easy to book 96D/F couple weeks back for rdpt booking

The front row non-bassinet seats are indeed now only bookable by PPS or Solitaire; I have been told this semi-officially and it is consistent with my recent experience (I am PPS ).

Haven't flown Qatar's Q suites yet, but this is the best J hard product for a couple I've flown to date.

When we came back from London on SQ J with infant we didnt have bassinet seat for last leg. Pax without babies were in the bassinets seats . One guy was happy to change with us but we ended up staying in the 2 seater but it was cramped not as good as bassinet seats. She slept all the way from London to Singapore and Singapore to Sydney so cant complain.

Not sure if this is the appropriate thread, however i would just like to say i think the new upgraded business class seats on the A380 are cough. cough because of no being able to have your legs straight when laying flat, instead having to get into a type of foetal position. Awful

I agree 100% with you except for rows 11, 91 and 96 hence the strong desire to get these seats... In these rows, you can lie flat and don't have to angle your body to fit your feet into the small hole! If you are tall (i'm not), it will be very uncomfortable. Don't know how Sq got this so wrong!

I missed this post sorry - if you find yourself in a non bassinet seat and do require same which is occupied by pax without infants then you need to request a change of seat with Cabin Manager - if no satisfaction there ask to see IFM - designated bassinet seats are so for one reason

Almost without exception when a pax is placed in a bassinet seat they are told they may require to be moved if bassinet seat is required by other pax with infants - standard procedure
