Generally I have found Seatcounter to be very accurate. But I have found something odd when trying to gauge the load for an upcoming SYD-PVG QF flight.

Seatcounter was reporting no seats available in J, be it C,D or J class. But Checkmytrip was showing 8 empty seats, and the QF site allowed me to do a dummy booking for 9 saets.

What would cause this problem? And can anyone tell me currently what is available on QF129 SYD-PVG on 12/1/09?

Seatcounter is currently showing me 9's in all listed classes except D where it is 4. The classes shown with 9's are:

B C H J K L M N O Q S V Y

E/F shows:

J9 C9 D4 I3 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 X0 E0

The seat map show the following seating pre allocated in J:

1F, 2A/B/F/J/K, 3A/B, 4A - the rest are unallocated.

Well b****r me. This morning it was showing 0 for C,D,J, and would not allow me to book into "business saver" on the QF website.

Like you say, it's now showing a decent availability and gives me an airfare $3000 less than it is currently booked at.

Oh, well. Corporate TA can cancel and rebook tomorrow and I'll have the money back for another foray via the SYD Flounge :D

And thanks for the reply serfty.
