Hi All,

I am having mixed feedback from the Travel Agent I went to about seat selection when booking via Qantas to earn FF and flying on Emirates flights. She wasn't sure if I would be able to select my seat? Has anyone got experience with this? I called Qantas and was told it wasn't a problem which is odd as it was Flight Centre and I thought they should know that sort of thing. Seat selection matters as I have bad joints and need to be able to stretch the right shoulder so always go an aisle seat so as not to bump the person next to me...

Emirates is all A380 for the flights I am looking at otherwise I might go to Singapore Air which is their 777's.

Thanks
Mel

I haven't booked yet as this was important to me. I wasn't planning on booking at Flight Centre but thought I would see what options they could suggest... Nothing except telling me this that I may not be able to choose a seat if I book via Qantas for Emirates flights. Otherwise they just went with what I was thinking...

You are definitely able to select the seats on EK using a QF booking.

Is there a reason your not booking direct with the airline?.

Recently completed HKG/DXB/HKG on the A380 was excellent, especially the Bar. While in DXB did the A380 simulator too.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I have been in the past Silver Status with Qantas and can use the points I get from the flight.

I recently booked BNE-SIN return in Y through QF website. BNE-SIN on EK metal seat selection available and free. SIN-BNE on QF metal available for $25 per person.

....odd as it was Flight Centre and I thought they should know that sort of thing..........
A very brave and courageous assumption. There must be a “Yes Minister” quote for this

With all due respect to those TA's who do know what they're doing, there are some shockers out there & keep in mind the FC training course is only 3 weeks long after which time some 18 year old is 'fully qualified' to book your dream holiday.

A tip for the FC training dept: Hawaii is part of the USA (yes really) & Australians need an ESTA just like they do for mainland USA. Hawaii 5-0 = 50th state of the USA, get it?
