Seat selection on SQ travelling on VA codeshare

As per the title. I have a couple of flights coming up. Booked VA Flexi Y to HKG travelling on SQ codeshare. VA flight number. Is there any way to select seats in advance? Would suck to end up down the back in the middle Just dropped back to VA Gold status, if that has any bearing.

I recently flew business class SYD-SIN-HKG-SIN-SYD on a VA ticket with VA flight numbers with all the flights operated by SQ

After making the booking I got the SQ booking reference number from VA and called up SQ and was able to get assigned seating. Mind you, it took me a couple of calls to the SQ call centre before I got a person who said they were happy to do it for me.

I don't think you get any onboard recognition for VA status, I'm Platinum and never got any acknowledgement.

Mark, have a read of this post in the link, advanced seat selection is a waste of time with SQ generally untill close to check in time
