We have a OWA Classic Business booking in Sep/Oct using QF/AS/AA/JL (all the AS bookings are in Y sadly).

I'm able to select my seats on the outbound QF legs, along with the inbound JL legs, but I'm unable to use the booking reference to access either the AS or AA flights - it just said it's incorrect. I've seen something previously where I think people were given a second, AA-specific reference, to manage that component of their booking.

In addition, the final QF leg home from SYD tells me that seat selection isn't available on the service.

Anyone struck either of these before and know how to address them?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I was able to get the booking reference for my AA flights by using PNR on the BA website. Then used the AA website to select seats no problem.

Message Alaska reps on their website. I had the same, explained it, gave them the QF PNR and they supplied me the Alaska PNR which I have used to select seats.
We're in Alaska Y too on a J RTW trip :(

Alaska are also fairly quick to answer the phone and very helpful/knowledgable reps from my experience so that might be the easiest way...

I did my AA seat selections on RJ.com (using the normal PNR), but they seem to have had a website 'upgrade' recently and I can't log in there anymore. Can also try the website's of the usual suspects like Qatar, Finnair, Malaysian or JAL.

IME if you put your normal PNR details into to CheckMyTrip, then when you check the individual flights it shows you the US PNR for your US flights.

Also one of my last flights back in to Aus also wouldn't let me pick a seat either, and I managed to pick it on one of the other airline's websites (can't recall which one) and it flowed through to the Qantas booking page.

RJ MMB option is now at the “Online booking” screen (or something like that). A little confusing, but it’s there. Checked something on the weekend.
I usually use check my trip to get the AA PNR as well.
Does that still work? Haven’t needed to do it for ages and I found the ”new” CheckMyTrip isn’t as functional as the original (as discussed here several years ago). I couldn’t even see ticket numbers on CMT now…

This works in reverse for IB flight# / BA metal - when you have IB’s whacky* 5 digit code and from the IB website, you try to select seats and it takes you to BA with the 6 digit PNR.

*IB websites says they have 6 digit PNRs but routinely issue 5 digit ones.

This was enormously helpful.

Did the trick - all non-QF seats selected now (last leg still appearing as Aisle/Windows preference only, but first leg ADL-MEL now doing the same after letting me select seats earlier).
