I’m booked on QF8224 aka cx411. In am P1. I can’t select a seat on the Cathay nor on the Qantas site. QF VIP line pointed me at Cathay and you can guess where Cathay pointed me. I have a seat but with a tight connection I’d rather be further forward. Fare is H. Anyone found a trick around this?

Does entering the Qantas PNR on Cathay's MMB bring up the seat map?

Yeah. Every seat is blocked on their site.
Flight is is 3 weeks so I doubt I got the last seat.
Is your FF# correctly connected to the CX system? In particular any leading zero?

We had a recent issue where it was fine at the time of booking (a QF CR) but after checkin, the CX system was recognising OWE benefits because our numbers were missing the leading zero.

There’s another thread here about OWE/S not being able to select seats on CX. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s linked to issues with FF details.

These issues started around the time CX locked down changes to FF (for earn and benefits) including denying lounge access if the the BP wasn’t linked to a lounge eligible FF#.

It looks correct. I’ll try their web site as it’s pointing me to their counter to make any changes in the app.
